Selected Major Projects Completed

The conservation painting projects listed below were completed through the generosity of the following organizations: from NYSCA (New York State Council of the Arts) awarded under the conservation treatment program of the Lower Hudson Conference, The National Endowment of the Arts or Humanities, Institute of Museum and Library Services and through private foundations and corporations.

The conservation projects completed included comprehensive technical conservation and treatment for Historical Societies, Museums, private collections and private clients including examination and condition reports, photography of treatments, conservation assessments, surveys, and condition priorities needs of collections as well as technical and historic analysis.

Conservation treatments of 19th century two oil portraits by artist Sheppard Alonzo Mount including treatment of mold damage and flaking losses.

The Long Island Museum of American Art, History and Carriages, (formerly The Museums at Stony Brook), Stony Brook, NY

Conservation treatments for 23 years preserving the nationally known Ward Melville Collection of American paintings. Conservation treatments of American artists William Sidney Mount, Shepard Alonzo Mount, Evlina Mount, Charles Henry Miller, Ernest Lawson, John F. Kensett, and modernists such as George Constant, David Burliuk, Nicolai Cikovsky, and Luigi Lucioni to name a few.

Conservation treatment of American paintings including portraits and landscapes from the late 19th century and early 20th century including portraits of past club presidents artists F. Ballard Williams, 1918 and August Henry Nordhausen.

The Fraunces Tavern Museum, NYC,

Conservation treatment of paintings by American artist John Ward Dunsmore including “George Washington and Staff at Fort Lee Watching the Battle of Fort Washington, 1776”, “Moll Pitcher-The Battle of Monmouth, N.J. 1778”, Bunker Hill Fight at the Rail Fence”, News from Yorktown, 1781” and “Defense of Fort Washington”.

Godwin-Ternbach Museum, Queens College, CUNY

Conservation of the old Master collection for example including a pair of 14th century Flemish panel paintings, a 16th Century Dutch painting attributed to S. Van Ruysdael, 17th century Dutch paintings on copper by Abel Grimmer, Pair of 18th Century French Rococo paintings by Nicholas Lancret, as well as modernist and abstract Expressionist paintings by Milton Avery, and Alberto Burri.

Conservation treatments of Portraits of General Dwight D. Eisenhower, General J.J. Pershing, General Blackshire Bryan, General A.L. Mills, General Fred W. Slater and the Capture of Major Andre to name a few.
